I don't know exactly how many, but I do know that it is not a very dangerous sport. Most likely, you will not get hurt at all unless you go "en pointe" before your legs are strong enough and your feet are developed.

dear angel,
i am in intermediate foundation & have been doing ballet since kindergarten. I have never seen anyone get hurt in ballet. The only way to get hurt is if you do something incorrect and could pull a muscle or something.
