I  was familiar with a sourdough bread that was made in St. Pierre( French islands off the south coast of Nfld. null.) I have never tasted anything like it since leaving the area. Would anyone have a  recipe for it?

My uncle (by law)is a pastry chef / baker from the island of St. Pierre, was trained in France, and now resides in Central Canada.  I asked him how the bread was made; and I am sorry to inform you that it cannot be made the same way as it is made in France- St. Pierre.  North American flours do not taste the same or act the same as those grown in France.  Some breads come a little bit close to it but never the same.

My suggestion is to contact the bakery in St. Pierre and see if you can order it from them.
