My son has created several documents that are inadvertently...

My son has created several documents that are inadvertently write protected and read only files.  He doesn't seem to be able to use microsoft word without making all his file un-editable.  I can't delete them, change them or figure this out.  I checked the file attributes, and none of them are marked read-only... they just are.

I would really appreciate help in fixing these files, or at least deleting them and preventing it from happening again.
