A Muslim man can marry a non-Muslim girl only if she belongs to a religion that is "ahl-e-Kitaab" (People of the Book). Hence a Muslim man can only marry a Jew or a Christian. The second option is that the girl should be converted to Islam. There isn't any such option that the Muslim man gets converted to Buddhism. Islamic laws deals with it strictly and it is very clear in it that if a person changes his/her religion from Islam to any other, he/she should be penalized to death.

A Muslim can marry only a Muslim woman, or one from the people of the book.
As far as I know, the marriage between a Muslim man and a woman from a non-authentic religion (e.g. Buddhism) is not allowed.
If one does it after all it is for God to decide, as it always is, what is to be of this person, so I think the penalty of death is nonsense, it is on God to make the judgment, for He is the most wise.

According to Buddhism, the belief in the forgiveness of sins by a supernatural being (Allah) is not justifiable. The effect of certain evil deeds that we have committed can only be overcome by increasign our meritorious deeds and maintaining healthy, pure minds. This cannot be done by merely praying to Allah.

Buddhism is a religion for people to practise on the basis of their own convictions and understanding and not out of the fear of eternal hell fire like what in Al-Koran says.

you could both convert to another "religion" like unitarian universalist but ultimately i think you should realize that this is a question of compatibility and the larger
ramfications this may for your family life both the family you come from and the families you will build together. It takes more than love, and even more than commitment and shared values helps a lot because that means you can build intimacy which is a necessary component of any healthy thriving relationship. Ultimately the question you must ask yourself is not so much one that concerns itself with dogma but one which concerns itself with awareness. Do you realize what your doing and what the consequences really are. Once you get a sound grip on that it is your decision, though as I said the consequences are not merely your own, but we live in an imperfect world, so what do you expect.

It doesn't matter. Either muslim or any other religon. The most essential thing is love between each other. But, ordinary muslim world don't want to accept it. But, if somebody can ask from Alla, will definatly say OK. So, NON - MUSLIM BOY can marry a MUSLIM GIRL

Assalamualaikum
Please don't follow islam or read quran blindly.  There is no such thing as a muslim can marry a non muslim.  Please for those who gave comment that a muslim can marry a non muslim, refer to surah An Nur, where one of the ayahs said that a mukmineen can not marry a musyrikeen.  A musyrikeen is considered the unbelievers. And the non muslims are unbelievers.  Don't change what's inside Quran, for Allah's sake.  It is absolutely not permissible in Islam.  Please look through what are the important things to be considered in the nikah session........  How is it possible to marry without a nikah?

Islam is an evil religion founded by an evil man. How many wives did Mohammad had? How many were just childs. It is not for nothing educated Muslims like Sulman Rushid referred to Islam as Satanic Verses.

Of course he can. He can have a civil marriage or an inter-faith marriage. But Islam will not recognize it as valid.

A Muslim does not just pray to Allah for forgiveness, although we are told of the creator being the most merciful. Prayer is just the major of part of the equation for a Muslim on the path of spiritually enchancing themselves. Additionally a Muslim strives for leading a better life by cleansing his heart and soul through their thoughts and actions in life, such as charity, fasting and helping others.

Muslims are taught that they should not have a self centred obsession, but a more common love and tolerance for those around them. Regardless of the religon- they do not believe that in order to reach heaven you will need to be a Muslim, but you will be judged by your actions in this world.

In reply to the question, a Muslim cannot marry a person of buddhist faith, however Muslims do believe that marriages are matched in heaven.

My personal belief is that as long as the person believes in a divine being and lives their life with good actions to those around them and themselves, it should be up to you. A Muslim is taught by the Noble Quran not to judge another by their faith or to discredit other faiths.

People say Bhuddists are not people of the book, but bhuddist scriptures talk about Isa and his training as a young man before returning to Jeruslamem as the messiah. No other books mentions this period of his life. The scriptures refer to him directly as Isa. The Christian story of the Star of bethlehem and the three wise men is taken straight out of Bhuddist myth.

I am a muslim man, who is married to a Bhuddist girl.
