I am in college right now and I do many reports for Eng.111 which all have to be MLA format. The correct way to do MLA format is to indent 1" all the way around. In the left corner 1" down and 1" over put your first and last name . Under that put professor and then their name .under that put the class and section #.Lastly underneath that goes the date, but you have to put the day, month ,and then year in that order. You must put your last name and page number as a header for every page 1/2" down in right hand corner . Then title centered not underlined. To start with report start with background info. State the problem, then the thesis or solution to problem .The last thing you do is make a work cited page to tell where you got your supporting info. Hope this helps you out.
