The best buy I have found so far on canning jars is at Dollar General Store, they sell the Golden Harvest jars for $5.00 a case with lids, I have checked many sites on the web, you can purchase the jars for less but they don't include the lids or shipping.  After you have paid shipping, and for the lids, the cost is slightly higher.  I'm still looking for a better buy.  I have a small Salsa business and go through a lot of jars.  I hope to find them less exepensive.

I have found that the mason jars are cheaper at the dollar stores but be aware...I purchased 6 dozen of quart jars and found they are larger than most quarts.  I could only get six quarts into a seven quart pressure cooker. I did not have this trouble last year and wondered why they were larger this year.  They were golden harvest #49281-43204.  I doubt that purchasing them at the dollar store was the problem, but suspect it was a malfunction in making the jars.

We are looking for good deals on jars too.  We love making all kinds of things and giving them for gifts but can not afford these high retail prices for ingredients and jars!  Do not know where to look, but if I find some I will post the local here.

I have found a pretty good site that you can buy jars and bottles in all sizes.  Just put this in the search bar on your search engine Fillmore Containers Wholesale Glass Jars.

I am also starting up a business with jellies, salsas, marinades, sauces, and vinegarettes.  If you want to contact me my email is drewrowe@sbcglobal.net and mark the subject as CANNING so I know it is one of you.  Yall have a good day!

I have also found the jars at Big Lots.  They are approximately $5.49 for the pint size and $6.49 for the quart size here in Louisiana.  It's a bit higher than the Dollar Store, but still cheaper than the net.  I am totally amazed that there is no access via the net to a wholesale or bulk selling company.

We are a wholesale Soy wax & candle supply company.  We're new, but we have the contacts.  Unfortunately, the answer to this questions is you can't get them cheap.

Why?  Simply put, to get them cheap, you have to buy them by the thousands, sometimes by the tens of thousands!  In fact, almost all manufacturers (the cheapest people to buy from) always require a minimum purchase.  Usually, this minimum purchase is not something that is possible to small time buyers.

The good news, when several small time buyers come together to pool their orders & purchase as one large company, you suddenly have true wholesale buying power!  With the extra shipping required to deliver everyone's items however, you may not be able to get them for a "Minimum" cost, but you will find that in the end they're cheaper than retail!

So, for everyone here to acquire jars at a wholesale company rate, everyone would have to pull together, on faith or contract, and use their combined buying power to accomplish this.

Further questions can be directed to me by email at megabids@insightbb.com

Contact the company who makes the jars and ask for their wholesale prices.  You will have to be a business with a tax number and will probably have to buy anywhere from $50.00 or more worth of product.
Hope this helps.

i am not a robot nor do i represent these companies. i'm looking to sell my own product with mason jars and my research yields:
www.fillmorecontainer.com - these guys have a lot of options at very low prices (including genuine ball mason pint jars starting at $6.95 for 12!). they offer further discounts when purchased by the pallet and also sell no-name (possibly their own?) mason jars at even lower prices (lids sold separately).
www.freundcontainer.com - their ball mason jars are more expensive but they carry wire bale/lightning jars at VERY low prices (12 17 oz jars at $32) and discounts at ten packages.

good luck
