I have a Runco VX101c and VHD Controller using a Yamaha RX-V995 AV Receiver with Monitor Audio Silver speakers and a JVC HR-4800U VCR.  The system is set up to run through the VCR.  The VCR must be on all the time to use any part of the system.

My question is that there is a noticeable HISS if I turn up the volume on the receiver.  At low volumes it is not noticeable.

What would cause this?

Thanks
