waterproof wiring w/ only brown, blue & green/yellow stripe wires, how are these in connected to existing black, white, green?

There is no certainty with wiring colors but you could alway check the difference of potential or a continuity check.

Brown, blue and yellow/green sounds like UK coloring of wires.

So brown is hot/live.
Blue is neutral
and green/yellow is earth/ground.
