I was at Auchtermuchty folk festival and sang a song known to me as the Old Whinhill a song that my grampa used to sing to me. I was sitting beside Gordeanna McCulloch and she told me that this song was very similar to The Braes O Bonhill. She then sang it (beautifully) and the chorus was almost exactly the same as the song I know. Perhaps you might find it on one of her recordings. Hope this is helpful.
