What is the scientific name for gasoline.
what is it's history and who discovered gasoline.
When was it discovered.

If you are from America or Canada then you would usually refer to fuel for running your car on as gasoline, I don't know if this is any help to you and I don't know if its the scientific name but here in Britain we call it "petrol "and it's taken from the word "petroleum".

2,2,4-trimethylpentane ... + God knows what else! No boobs!
Gasoline was one of the impurities in petroleum when refiners were after the oils & kerosene (for lamps) markets. Of course, This was BC (before cars)! "Oxtain"??? Not in THIS lifetime!

it is comprised of heptane, octane, nonane, and decane.these are called hydrocarbon chains, they are pulled from crude oil by a form of distilling the oil

The right answer is OCTANE. Octane is an eight carbon atom chain, each carbon atom bond to two neighboring atom, which can handle lots of pressure because of its molecular structure.
