After running normally for a couple of days, my Sun Ultra 60 was found with no video display.  It was not sleeping and <Stop><A> did not change its state.  A cold boot would not produce any video.  So I performed a POST by powering up with <Stop><D> depressed.  I saw the Caps Lock light on the keyboard blink for about a minute and then the keyboard LEDs were blank - which seems to indicate that it passed POST.

However, I still get NO video.  Using a modem cable connected to Serial A, 9600, n, 8, I get no text on my PC's hyperterminal.

I have replaced the Raptor pci VGA card with a Sun Elite 3D card & VGA adapter.  No difference.

I tried to boot from CD (Installation CD) - I see the drive read, but no video.

Can anyone help?  Is the machine hopelessly dead?
