Which has better coverage, basis path testing or data flow testing? Can someone please comment on the similiraties and dissimilarities between them?

Basis path testing: To execute every statement in a program at least one time.By using basis path test will find out the execute path of the statement

Data Flow testing: select statement in a program and uses the variable of the definition.

i think basis path coverages better as here every statemenst is checking.
but in data flow we r choosing  perticular data  
which has prone to wrong ..
if not pls reply..
