hi, I need to know how can I be supportive to my mate who have been depressed for about a year.

As one who suffers from depression, I feel that the best support is to help your mate feel that he/she has accomplished something, no matter how small, during a day they feel they cannot function at all. Do not criticize what has not been accomplished, always reinforce the positive.

I myself suffer from depression, be an open ear and a hug that is open,but most of all let your mate know how very important they are to you and that they are loved. Also know the suicide warning signs vip
