in thermodynamics we have to indicate imperfect differentials by putting a bar on the alphabet d;
we have \hbar; do we have equivalent for differential symbol d in Latex ?

There is an excellent guide to both usual and unusual characters here:

There are at least two ways mentioned there.

The imperfect differential is found, for example, in the African Languages section.
You will find it as \B{d} in Table 6, page 8, African Languages.
It requires T4 font encoding, provided by the fc package.

It is also found as
\textcrd
a part of tipa Phonetic symbols, Table 10, page 9, first column.  It says you should
look for the "tipa" documentation.
