My partner has assured me there is no unfinished symphony by Beethoven but I have heard a quiz question on local radio asking to name which number was his unfinished. Can you please help explain this

Beethoven symphony 10 is considered unfinished symphony.

Beethoven's symphony No. 10 was considered to be his unfinished symphony. It was a hypothetical work because of the fragmentation. it was assembled by Barry Cooper in 1990 from disjointed sketches left by Beethoven.

There was also a not so successful attempt at reconstruction of an earlier incomplete symphony.
