I have a pair that ate the paint off the fireplace bricks! (even with bitter apple spray applied; they must've thought it was gravy.

I have found out that shelties need a lot of
love and attention, especiality as a puppy
under a year old.  They have so much energy
that this is an outlet.  I am raising my
second sheltie now.  We keep her in a small
room so the damage is usually confined to this small area.  This puppy is following the
same behavior as the previous but it was well
worth the effort.   You will not be disappointed  as the dog will calm down and
become one of the best you will ever have.
