Its a live production environment . Nis Server runs on Hp-ux , Clients are Hp-ux as well as Sgi Irix .Application S/w demands bourne Shell to be used uniformally.Hp-ux Clients work fine , Sgi Irix clients get login prompt after almost 2 hours when shell is set to bourne .Login prompt comes immediately if C-shell is set but then application on those respective clients doesn't work
