I have a 2000 Avenger with 72,000 miles. Every Fall when it starts to get cold at night, the idle RPMs will not hold above 800 (stall speed)upon first morning start until the engine warms (foot on accelerator)for 4-5 minutes. When first started, engine sounds weak (though firing on all 6) so I know the idle speed will not hold. The AIS motor has been replaced but this made a difference for only 2 months (last winter). It's started again this year. Whatsup?

Have you tried to replace the temp-sensor for the computer. Not the gauge sensor. You may have a too lean or a too rich burn causing the vehicle to flood out and this is what is giving you the weak sound that your engine has. What the sensor does is tell your computer what the fuel to air mixture should be at.
