I have a female JRT and I adopted her @ two years ago from our local animal shelter, she has been checked and tested inside and out but I read info. and concerned about her skin blackening. When I got her she had nice pink skin and has been darkening since.
I can't seem to get any answers from my vet etc. Can someone help me?

Animal skin can change pigmentation with age but if your dog spends time laying in the sun you may want to find a Veterinarian that specializes in Dermatology. My sister had a dog that had areas on its stomach that changed and irritated the dog and the regular vets had no idea what was happening and I received a recommendation for specialist in Dermatology and they diagnosed him right away.
