     Badly worded question.

     Even worse answers.

Thus far, with six votes in, the score is: Hill 2, Hood 2, Bragg 1, and Stuart 1.

As for Hill, you need to be a bit more specific. A. P. Hill was slain in battle, Petersburg, VA, April 2, 1865. D. H. Hill died in Charlotte, NC, September 24, 1889, a college professor. B. J. Hill died in McMinnville, TN, 1880, a lawyer.

As for Hood, he died of yellow fever in New Orleans, August 30, 1879.

As for Bragg, he fell dead walking down the streets of Galveston, TX, September 27, 1876.

As for Stuart, he was slain in battle at Yellow Tavern, VA, May 11, 1864.

     P. S. - A. P. Hill & D. H. Hill were lieutenant generals. B. J. Hill was a brigadier general. Braxton Bragg was a full general; they were NOT major generals.

So, who did become Spanish-American War generals, anyway, after having been Confederate generals?

They were: Matthew Calbraith Butler; Fitzhugh Lee; Thomas Lafayette Rosser; and Joseph Wheeler.
