I think the dodo has been here since creation. The fact that it doesn't fly may be similar to that of praying mantis's. They have the built-in genetic capability to change from a winged insect to an unwinged insect, depending on their environment. Various examples of this ability to change genetically, without the gain of information, may be found in the CREATION magazine.
