I believe James Bond is leading in the big budget circuit, however the actual record goes to the "Amateur hotties," or whatever name it really is, set of movies, which has cranked out AT LEAST 100 sequels probably on the order of several hundred.  I can't remember the exact number but think it was either in the 200's or 400's.

Godzilla, he has the most sequels out of all. 28 of them, and some of them have nothing to do with one another, but it is Godzilla with the most movie sequels.

Doesn't beat Bond or anything...  But in terms of numbered non-porn sequels the Land Before Time series is up there too.  The Land Before Time XI: Invasion of the Tinysauruses (2004).  Though most of those are direct to video...

i have to say that the immense film 'mystery of the peach', directed by drew peacock and produced by his brother, isaac peacock, it actually stars chris peacock, who you may have guessed is their brother. co-starring in it is ileen Dover and hugh janus. the movie actually has 671 sequels, including the hot new film 'why ileen dover?' and a classic 'look at my hugh janus' and another famous one 'why isaac peacock?' ileen dover actually died in the making of the 356th movie, she spontaniously combust and a camera man in his panic ripped her head off with a potato peeler. but she has been replaced by a puppet of herself it is very life like apart from the lack of hair and facial features. I LOVE CAKE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PEACH. amen
