Why did Australia end up leaving the Vietnam War? What was the Prime Minister's inolvement in ending it?

I think the reason Australia left the Vietnam War was because of the Americans withdrawal. The Americans left the Australian and New Zealanders there to fight this war by them selves when they (the Americans) where the reason they went over there in the first place. To help our allies so they will help us.
