Being unmarketable only means that spells that say "target" in them, cant be announced with this creature as their target. If you cast a spell like say, wrath of god, there is no word target in its text, so anything unmarketable still dies. Earthquake is similar as it says "all creatures". Diabolic Edict targets a player not a creature, so they would have to sacrifice this if it was their only creature. Also, you can always block the creature and kill it that way.

As far as remove soul, you can always counter a creature spell on the stack regardless of pro blue, untargetability etc. This is because a cards abilities only apply when it is in play, unless otherwise stated. Cards specifically need to say they cant be countered to prevent counter-spelling.
