Australia was involved in world war 2 for the some reason it was in the first... In WW2 Britain declared war against Germany and called on Australia for assistance. Australia returned that call and issued troops immediatly into war armed to the teeth and ready to do some damage... Also the fact that over 95% of Australia had a British background helped along that sense of duty to the mother country

Australia was involved in world war two mainly because of two points.
1. We are part of the commonwealth and will help out our fellow countries whenever we are needed.
2. We would like to think if we help them, then (since we're such a little country) they will help us if we're ever needy because we could easily be taken over.

Australia joined WW2 because they felt a need to strengthen their kinship with Britain. As Britain was their mother country they felt a need to protect it. Also the prime minister at the time was pro-British. Later Australia joined the pacific war because they were directly under threat of the Japanese after they invaded Singapore. When Japan took Singapore there was nothing to stop the Japanese from invading Australia.

JAPAN WAS TRYING TO KILL THEM ALL! In fact, Australia's relationship with Britain was pretty much destroyed when Britain was more concerned with defending Burma then Australia. The Australians DID NOT want to be under Japanese rule and so turned to the USA for help. They joined in the FIRST place because they were ORDERED to be the British, as part of the Commonwealth they have no choice when ordered.

Australia did not have the greatest relationship with Britain, WW1 seemed to have shown their true colours. However, Australia joined the war because 1) we were/are apart of the Commonwealth, and were allied with both the US and Britian. We were obliged to help; if we had not have helped them, then they would have retaliated with similar actions.
2) Japan had their eye set on Australia, they had even decided on our currency, we were under direct threat of invasion.

Australia was bound to Britan and because it was part of the British empire and because Britan went to war, australia had to go too...and then they dragged new zealand in... but ya thats the real reason why they joined. They later realized after Japan joined the war that this would be the first war that Australia would be in (after Britan took it over) where there was actually a threat to Australia, which was imposed by Japan.

Firstly, Britain was a mother country of Australia: Australia wanted to strengthen ties between the realtionship with Britain. Also, later on , Australia had to defend herself against Japan. Japan was coming southwards to Australia, and they have already dominated southeast asia. Australia wanted her troops back from Greece (supporting Britain), but Churchill refused to let go of Australia's troops.

Australia joined both World Wars for the same reason. Because Britain were in them. Australia had strong ties with the Mother Country and joined out of a sense of duty. On a side note Australia believed that if they were ever in trouble, Britain would come to help, just as Australia had done in all wars until WW2. Britain promised this to.
However when Australia was in direct threat by Japan, Britain refused to give back Australian troops let alone help them. Australia then turned to America for help, who did help them. Though this was more out of self-interest, seeing as they wanted revenge on Japan after Pearl Harbour. So they used Australia to hold all sorts of planes and ships.
Ever since, Australia has always had America's back, Korean war, Vietnam war, Iraq, etc.

Australia was part of the British commonwealth. They would not have to go to war if Britain didn't. And to those people who say the war strengthened ties with Britain are very wrong. WW2 actually weakened Australia-Britain ties in many Australian's opinion because they feel that Britain did not provide enough aid to Australia in the Pacific. On the other hand, it strengthened ties with the U.S.
NOTE TO Eldar the High-Elf: ok so....Eldar is a group of elves...not a person...and they only differ from the Noldor because the Noldor fled Valinor. A "better" and more correct name could be something like "Earendel of the Eldar"...or something better.

because Australia answered the call from the mother country Great Britain. After the fall of Singapore, Australia looked to the United states for protection. Thus forming the ANZUS pact which included New Zealand. Since New Zealand didn't allow the US to sanction nuclear submarines in their harbour the pact was reformed excluding NZL. The impact of the World War two many did not greatly exceed of the change that had occurred during World War 1. Though it did effect the way upon which, we as a nation saw ourselves.

We joined WWII because Australia had a constiutional obligation to do so. As our Constitution is an Act of the British Imperial Parliament (1900). In 1939, Australia was governed by the Colonial Laws Validity Act 1865 (Imp), and was obliged to follow English law. When England had declared war, Australia, as part of the Commonwealth, was also presumed to be at War. In 1942, the Statute of Westminster Adoption Act was passed to remove the UK'spower to legislate on our behalf, unless Australia Consents. All of UK'spower to legislate for Australia was finally removed by the Australia Act 1986(Cth) and (UK).
In summation, Australia was bound to follow England to war in WWII. However, since 1942 that has no longer been the case as we are an Autonomous Nation-State with soveriegn rights.

Australia went to war in 1939 because of hardcore german porn. It was so hardcore that america felt obliged to compete and hence they invented Bondage (aka. S&M). Japan being a natural enemy of America set inventors to see if there was something so degrading to women and enjoyable. In light Bukkake was invented, (in spite of what many americans believe, the japanese DID invent bukkake).

Australians joined WW2 in September 1939. approx. two days after Germany invaded Poland. Australia mainly joined the British and hence the war, was because the majority of Australias were pro-British, and the population believed it correct to aid the 'mother country'. As in the 'Advertiser, Adelaide, 4 September 1939 it quoted Menzies in one of his speeches. It outlined Menzie's reasons for going. These were to do with Hitler's ruthless values "It may be taken that Hitler's ambition is not to unite all the German people under one rule, but to bring under that rule as many countries as can be subdued by force". Hence Menzies explains that Australians need to stand up and put down the oppressive dictator (like Bush and Sadam). Secondly Menzies adds that "the right of the independent people to live their own lives...are at stake" refering to the countries Germany and 'aquired' (Czechs and soon to be Poland), and thus these coutnries needed to be defended and protected. Lastly, was his mention that "..where Britain stands, there stands the people of the entire British world.
Joining the war was not related to the Japanese, we had decided to enter the war 2yrs after it started, when the Japanese launched the attack on Pearl Harbour on 7 December. John Curtin (Australia's New PM) decided that Australia woudl join the US in declaring war on Japan. Curtin was much more pro-US than Menzies who was more pro-British, till the fall of Singapore and thus shown in the Vietnam war.
Hope this holds more valid information than information 'laid' bare to you by some other 'analy' retentive hornbags

Why was Australia involved in World War 2 well i'lltell u Australia was involved in W.W.2 because it was part of the British empire so if any nation that declares war on Britain they declare war on Australia. Until december 1941 the Japanese leadership pursued 2 courses: they tried to get the oil embargo lifted on terms that would still let them take the territory they wanted, and they prepared for war. The U.S. demanded that japan withdraw from china and indochina, but would very little have settled for a token withdrawal and a promis not to take more territory. After he became japan premier in mid-October, General Tojo hideki set November 29 as the last day on which japan would accept a settlement without a war.
