Whether the US B1/B2 visa duration is an  entry Visa? That is to say whether the immigration authorities can permit the visa holder in USA beyond the expiration date of US VISA specified in his/her passport if he/she makes the entry into the country before the expiration date?

I have come to US on a B1 visa and my i-94 expires on 30 Dec 2006. My port of entry in US was on 1st Oct 2005 and my B1 visa is valid till Sep 2015.

I am in an assumption that business visitors from B1 should stay in US only for 3 months and am not sure if it will cause any problems if I stay more than 3 months continuously in US. Pls let me know if I can stay in US till my i-94 expires or at least for 5-6 months?

if yes, will there be any problems when I apply for H1/L1 visa next time.

What is the max duration of stay in US for B1 visa? Is this decided by i-94?

Regards
