Yes, Russia was one of the Allied nations. However, this was only due to the fact we had a common enemy in Hitler's Germany.

No Russia was not an ally of the United States  it was at frist an axis along with Italy and Germany with Germany. However Hitler (German Dictator) always hated the Polish and Russins and so launched Barbossa in 1941 thus ending peace with Russia and Germany

Yes, the Russians were an ally of the United States in a wierd sort of way. This was mainly due to the mere hatred of Hitler in Germany for they turned on the Soviet Union in 1941. Yet the Soviet Unions only declared allies were Great Britain and France. This was a problem for if Germany attacked, Stalin feared they would do nothing. So one could say that the U.S. and the Soviet Union were allies without an agreement or pact.

to the u.s. yes but only on a very thin line. to the alies however, no at the start the soviets tried to take finland but failed. they also aided the germans in taking poland and ended up spliting it between them. I used to think they were one of the allied powers but after doing all the research I found otherwise.

Russia became America's Ally after Germany declared war on them. The reason for the war was because of deception. Germany signed the Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact which stated that they would basically be friends, plus Russia would receive bountifuls of trade from Germany if the German military could train for fighting. Basically to make a long story short Germany decided it couldn't dominate Great Britan( Because Germany wanted to rule the world) so they began to fight the Russians causing Russia to revolt and become the USA'sAlly.

Adolf Hitler Said he hated the Soviet Union(U.S.S.R)but science Joseph Stalin was scared of Germany he thought the non-agresion pact was a smart move but that was just the start of the two countrys fighting after a while he onley singed it because he needed more time to eprove his army but stalin dind see that Hitler would betray him so then the U.S.S.R got invaded and they allied with the allied power's of WWII witch included U.S.A and just to let you all know Russians were the one to make it to berlin (Germanys Captial) befor us.

No because Russia would have fought us if Germany had not attacked the Russian Empire. The United States did not like Russia but with our enemy (axis powers) we banned together.

Interesting Fact:
Russian and American troops never fought together.

Russia was an ally of the U.S. because of certain events that happened that led to the German attack against Russia.  When the Germans attacked, Russia joined our side for political and military aid.  Both sides knew that without unity and plans of working together, fighting the Axis would've taken longer to defeat or have been in chaos if the Allies didn't coordinate battle plans on both fronts of Germany.  Yes there was political tension between the Allies and Russia but the governments tried to put that stuff aside as defeating the Nazi's was the greatest priority than to bother with old feelings.

Russia and the U.S. were allies in WWII. When Germany declared war on the U.S. after the bombing of pearl harbor the two countries were together in fighting the same enemy Germany.Even though U.S.S.R. and Germany had signed a nonaggression pact Germany broke that when Germany invaded the U.S.S.R. Also U.S.S.R was at war with Japan after they tried to creep in on Russian territory.

IN MY OPINION RUSSIANS AND AMERICANS WERE NOT ALLIES.THEY WERE IN THE SAME TEAM OF COURSE BUT THAT DOESN'T MEANS THAT THEY WERE ALLIES. BECAUSE THE RUSSIANS WERE USING THE IDEA OF WORLD WAR 2 TO EXPANSION THEIR POLITICAL INFLUENCE OVER THE TERRITORIES THEY HAD MARCHED TRYING TO CLOSE ALL THE PATHS TO THE ALLIES.USA WANTED TO END THIS HELL OF WAR BUT RUSSIANS WANTED REVENGE, POWER AND TERRITORIES. THEY THOUGHT THAT THE AMERICANS JUST GOT IN THIS WAR TO BE HEROES BUT THAT IT'S NOT TRUE WORLD WAR 2 WAS A WAR OF THE WORLD IN WITCH FREEDOM MARCHED WITH THE USA MARINES, TROOPERS AND MORE. THEY WERE ONLY IN A NON-DIRECTIONAL-WAY ALLIES OF THE USA CAUSE THEY HAD ALL THE SAME ENEMY: ADOLF HITLER

Despite the fact that in pure desperation Stalin agreed to sign the Nazi-Soviet pact, the Soviet Empire couldn't afford to be enemies with the West, and the west did not want to risk falling out with Russia in all her might.

Russia was not an ally to anyone.  Russia and it's leader Stalin only cared about defending their country, and the demise of Hitler.  For this reason Russia and the Allied Forces of WWII had similar goals and desires, but in all essence of the term, Russia is not an ally.

Hitler did not hate the ussr he had a strong paranoya for these kinda things. In nhiotlers mind he was to take oput russia before russie could ally with the united states and britian. This did not make russia a ally but simply a one time friend. Hitler was not a tyrant. he was simply mixed on some views of things. And if u say hitler was a tyrant look at slalin aswell. But all in all no i dont think russia was an allie simply a one time friend.

Russia was an ally of the U.S because, the U.S. didn't think they would ever become a world power either economicaly nor millitarily....were Hitler's Germany would.
Note Stalin killed millions of his own people before Hitler had even come to power, so the idea that the U.S. and Russia became allies to fight tyranny is crap!

Yes the U.S. and U.S.S.R. were allies. (common enemy) Before we were allies though, the U.S.S.R. WAS a part of the Axis powers until Germany launched an attack on the Soviet Union. After the war the U.S. and U.S.S.R. went different ways because the Soviet Union was a communist country, and the U.S. of course being a democracy.

Yes the Soviet Union (Russia) was a member of the Allies, albeit an odd one. It was separated by the other by more than just geography for it also followed severally different political, social, and economical pathways. It was also the only nation to have any real agreement with Hitler, but that was only an Anti-Aggression pact, which Hitler later went back on.
