Why won't the Z-term dial with the G4 running on Mac OS 9.2

I have been trying to transfer data using my infra red port on my lap top and nokia 6310i.   This seems to conect ok using Zterm 1.1b7 but when it starts to send the images it stops, crashes.  Any advice would be great.
