need a little more info...I race a 82 VW Rabbit Truck 1.8L.  I run a stock head with no problems.  Last year compression was 12:1 going to 14:1 this year 270 duration .440 lift.  Turning 7000 rpm.  Have a Holley 500 with 80 jets, running 110 octane Sunoco, MSD ignition, SACHS 3-puck unsprung racing clutch, flywheel cut down to 9#, balanced, port & polished, with straight open headers...all this on a 1/4 asphalt oval 15 degree banked track...As far as having to switch anything...not at all...I am looking for a 2.0 to use my current head on.  As far as the wiring, get rid of it...hope this helps.
