Good evening everyone,

I am restoring a Belmont Model 840 console radio and I am having a hard time trying to find out just what the cabinet is supposed to look like! It has been water damaged and some of the detail is totally missing. There was no speaker or baffle and it appears that there was a vertical wood bar(s) from an area directly underneath the four missing radio knobs to the bottom of the speaker grill area. There are a couple of screws protruding from the front of the cabinet just below the four radio knobs that lead me to think that.

Attached are a couple of poor quality photos (made with an Eye-module plug-in on my Handspring DMA) that may be helpful in identifying what I have. I am by no means a "pro" at this as many of you folks obviously are! I just retired at the end of the year and "grew up on tubes," so I am attempting to do a bit of repair and restoration in my basement. Any help you might be able to give me I would greatly appreciate.

Thanks and may God bless you and all of you in returning "treasures" to their rightful place!
