In August, 1957, Kenneth H. Olsen and Harlan Anderson founded Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) in Maynard, Massachusetts. A transcript of an interview discussing his lifetime of involvement with technology can be found at http://americanhistory.si.edu/csr/comphist/olsen.html

Ken Olsen is a wonderful man, a first class human being, when he presided Digital Equipment for Mr. Olsen his employees were his best assets. He treated people with respect and kindness. If I have a chance I work for Mr. Olsen in a minute.
