can ticks hatch in your house

Yes.  If your pet brings it in, it can.  It happened to me.  Ticks lay thousands of eggs that look like fish eggs.  Little, round, red eggs.  I was constantly checking the corners of the walls and creases of furniture and found them.  Vacuuming and disposing of it took care of that.
