At what age do Goldens go into heat and how often?  We have a 10-month old and wonder if she's approaching season.  Do they go into season every six months?  If so, does the time start from the time pups are delivered or from the time of her last season?
Thanks

You can't put a time frame on a dog at once. You have to find her own timing. Dog's can go into heat at 4 months or as old as a year and a half. I think that pregnancy does not interrupt the timing between the heat cycles. You just have to wait until she tells you her seasons.Tanisha

My 8 month old boxer / lab just went into heat. We have a male boxer in the house that is not fixed. He is 9 years old but I am sure that doesn't matter. The main question is, although we are going to do all in our power to not let them mate yet, if it were to happen, how harmful is it for a puppy this young to have pups?
