Why havenít Jupiter and Saturn become stars?

Jupiter and Saturn have not become stars because they are not big enough. They have the atmosphere and material to be a star but Jupiter would have to be 50-100 times bigger than it already is. Saturn would have to be even bigger than that.  If Jupiter or Saturn were a star than this solar system would never have existed because Jupiter or Saturn would be a second sun and the planets in the solar system now would never have existed.

I predict that there may be something that can add to it's mass, dark matter.  I feel this is possible and quite likely...

Astronomygenius's answer is wrong.   Jupiter is not a star because it has moons orbiting around it. The answer is just that simple.

in the acutalidad the hypothesis of my companion is a little false, since recently in the 2005 have been stars with size and diameter of jupiter and Saturn.

So, if Jupiter was a star, how would the solar system Not have formed? Wouldn't Jupiter, prabably be a red dwarf star, still orbit the Sun in it's current orbit? Wouldn't we actually have a Binary Star Systems using Jupiter as a star and its moons as planets, some of the moons are roughly the same size as earth. The Sol and juvian System. I heard somewhere that earth might not be habital if Jupiter was 100 times more massive, but what if it was only a small red dwarf. Would the Javian Red Dwarf Star thaw Europa into the ocean some believe it to be? Forgive my questions. I'm just soaked with imagination. I'm invisioning the far future Solar system of two stars one Yellow and a smaller red and life on Europa from it's deep seas and maybe Mars warms up a bit due to the event from the extra heat and gravity from the new Juvian sun churning Mars core like Jupiter does to its moons today and instilling Mars newly molten core with gravity once again and the trapped oxygen and water in the ice caps release like the earths. Floading the Binary Star System with three habital planets. I should write a book heheh.
