The O2 Sensor is an integral part of your vehicles emmission...tied into to ecm, the sensor can inhibit characteristic probs if not installed as reccomended.  If the sensor wiring in misdirected, or the sensor itself is even slightly crooked at inlet, the mixture levels fed to computer will fumble drastically, resulting in premature wear on converter, and rough idle or stalling in engine.
