I am developing an embedded Ethernet device. Of course it has a MAC address and there is an IP address is assigned to it as well.
The problem I have is that when trying to communicate my PC to this device I am not able to send messages to this IP. I have added to my device the chance to answer arp requests only, and just arp request asking for its MAC address.
Could anyone explain me what I am missing?
I think that my PC may use another way different from ARP protocol to get my MAC but I haven't got a clue.
As soon as you can please answer me, I am stuck here now.
Thanks in advance.
Natalia
