my samoyed in august i noticed that his lips,
nose, and eyes had turned pink.  i took him to the vet right away inwhich i was told he had an allergic reaction to something,  which he was prescribed three different pills, drops for his eyes, and ointment for
his nose, and then on his follow-up visit i was told he was showing improvement and was given more pills,  well he has been out of pills still looks the same and even looks worse,  this weekend he looked like he was blind so back to the vet he went for blood work and everything tested came back normal. so if anyone has experienced this in there samoyed please send an e mail to me letting me know what was the problem.  he is going to wayne state university in east lansging hopefully to get some answers but they cannot see him until next week and as i thought he is now almost blind. his problem charateristics is pink nose, pink lips, and pink eyes along with being blood shot.  thanks.

Ditto! I have a Samoyed/Malamute mix who has unknown sores on the bottom lip right below the fangs, and more crusted bloody sores all along the inside edge of her top lips. Vet has no clue. She had a similar sore on her leg that would not go away, 3 months ago. Tried weeks of antibiotics, sore would go away, but when medicine was done it came back, finally had the area surgically removed, then it came back on her elbow callus. Had to have that removed, lab said it was multiple ingrown hairs that became infected. Now what looks like the same thing is all around her lips. What did you folks find out??? malahusk@cccomm.net
