get a LOT of instrumentals, play them over and over listen to them constantly, you can freestyle about anythign around u, i was freestylin bout my fridge once hahaaha but just go with it, forget about everything, just relax, it comes naturally after a bit of practise. i had to keep trying for about 4 months to get my flow right and listening to instrumentals all the time helped heaps, but you do have to listen to a wide variety of rap music to get good.. i was just listening to 50 cent, g-unit, the game, dr dre, snoop dogg, eminem, NWA etc and my freestyles were always about guns and drugs, there's no surprise there. so if you branch out and listen to a great variety of different artists you will get better at rapping about different things.
here's a list of instrumentals i have that i highly recommend anybody trying to start rapping should get:
-westside story, the game
-put you on the game, the game
-dreams, the game
-straight outta compton, NWA
-my buddy, g-unit
-bow down, westside connection
-lay low, snoop dogg
-what's my name, snoop dogg
-prices on my head, young buck
-whats the difference (GOOD!), dr dre
-keep their heads ringin, dr dre
-still dre, dr dre
-f**k you, dr dre
-deep cover, dr dre & snoop dogg
-work magic, lloyd banks
-im so fly, lloyd banks
-C-Walk, kurupt
-G-Unit anthem, g-unit
-poppin them thangs, g-unit
-im supposed to die tonight, 50 cent
-in da club, 50 cent
-heat, 50 cent
those beats are a must for ur collection of stuff to freestyle to, another tip (i probably aint supposed to say this) but smoke weed AND THEN freestyle, a lot of good rhymes are written by stoned people..
practise for months to get your flow perfect though, before you try to battle anybody. good luck to all those startin out. peace
