My dog of 10 years has an en-larged heart.  he's a cock-a-poo, 25 lb. Our vet put him on enalapryl 10mg1 tab twice a day Furosemide 50 mg also twice a day.  he eats little, can carely walk weak, and sad.  his stomach is so big.  Is there any other meds that could help with his bloating tummy, or any surgury???Please help  thank you. .

Hi ask about lasix.  It might be of some help but at 10 years of age there isnt much to be expected.  You probably should start considering euthanasia if the problem continues; bloat is very painful.

hi my cockapoo also has congestive heartfailure- he is 13. he is on 12.5 mg of furosemide.  50 mg is a lot for a tiny dog.  since it is a water pill his electrolytes are probally out of wack.  my advise is to take him to a diff vet for a different opinion and treatment plan.  good luck
