does nose piercing leave a scar if you decide to leave your...

I'm 14, i got my nose pierced about 9 weeks ago .. and ill say one thing, make sure you really wanted and you can take care of it, i took care of mine just as directed and it still got "the bump" which is horribly ugly, plus i don't know about you but i like the flatter studs, and for a long time i had a huge metal ball coming out of my nose from what they pierced it with.. the nose isn't very clean so most people do have a problem with it healing ..so make sure you really want it, i know most people would take it out after all the trouble, but i figured i payed and went through with it and I'm not gonna waste it.. its healing up really nice now, but only since i took out the screw and but in a bone kinda ( i did it early but it only helped ) good luck with your piercings and yes.. your getting a needle pushed through your skin thats taking out a chunk of flesh, it is going to hurt a bit, but for the nose, i wouldn't say its bad..

hey kids, I'm a graduate of UCLA Medical School. I worked in the PSNPE, Parent Safty Net Piercing Emerg for 10 months. And this is my story: One day a girl, about 13 i would say rushed in on a strecher. Now I can't tell you exactly what happened but I can tell you this. She had her right nostrel PIERSED. Now I can tell you I've never seen anything like this. Yes, she was in pain. How much you ask? Well, just about as much as it would to get your left nostrel peirced. Well luckily I am able to tell you she lived throught the experiance and the worst her parents could do was take it out and ground her. And yes just like the other 86.59% of the population that has had their nose peirced, it healed and sealed un....noticed! thanx, daRockinDock

well i wanted my nose pierced so badly no one has any idea....well my mom was all for it except she was afraid it might leave a scar when im older and want it out...so i was shopping and saw these these nifty little rhinestones if anyone is interested in a stud...u get some glue..(they have body glue) or even nail glue...ask before u use it to make sure its ok...then dab it on the back and stick it where u want it...personally im liken this better....from all the storys ive heard about pimples and swelling and scaring i like this ALOT better...you can change it when ever and even better...no scar...and if u can get your nose pierced...hey do what ever u want..u got the power u should keep the power.. i dont think its normal to get your nose peirced with a nail but alls well that ends well. ive only heard of using a needle. anyway im getting my nose peirced this summer and im so excited. im thirteen and dont even lecture me about bin too young and not thinkin enough about it and all. my mom said i can do it only if i find out about it and think about it for a year first (i asked last summer). si im pretty well informed. and i just cant wait. so far some of the things i found out were that it doesnt hurt that much (but i dont really care bout that cause im really good with pain and even if it hurt as much as when i broke my arm clear-through i want it so bad id still do it!) and that it doesnt leave a scar most of the time and im not sure if you can take it out or not once it healed. so if you have any corrections for me or suggestions or comments or facts or anything than tell me ASAP casue times awaisting!

Hey ya'll I got my nose done on both sides, it hurt like anything but I done it. At first its just like a little pinch, then its sore for a few weeks, but its not half as bad as gettin the top of your ear done --In the cartilage-- I have my ears done three times on both sides, so I know what Im talkin about when I say, There isn't much to gettin your nose done. Clean it regularly with peroxide, not alcohol, and you'll be fine. It doesnt always leave a scar, but you may get one! I got mine ALL done with a gun, its ALOT better! It faster and hurts less, its still not outlawed in alot of places, so go for it! Bumps are VERY normal, I had them on both sides... They eventually go away! I think That 13-14 are too young to have any exotic piercings. My parents told me no when i asked them if could get my belly button pierced. So I decided i wanted my nose pierced. I did it myself with an earing and it has never been infected and im 16 now. I finally got my belly button done by a friend of mine who owns a tatto shop. my mom couldnt Belive i did it but. I got grounded for 2 weeks. Well Know I'm 16 and I have my nose done my belly button Done, my Tounge done and my eyebrow. and I have 12 holes in my ears on each side. They told me if I pierced anything or dyed my hair any coloful colors like pink blue or green, they'd kick me out. And well they didn't and i have everything pierced like i wanted. I think you should be at least 15-17 if you want to get something pierced.

I have some advice for the young ones wanting to pierce their nose. I am contemplating a nose ring myself (I'm 19) but I think it's really important to think it through for a while. Some things to consider are the fact that it will be there for life. It is central in your ace and cannot be easily hidden for job interviews, etc. If you decide later in life that it doesn't suit you anymore, then you may be left with a scar on your nose, and have many regrets. I think it is best to stick with ear piercing and navel, as you can hide these easily with your hair or shirts. Also remember that society sadly IS prejudice, and WILL judge you based on your piercing. It could hold you back from getting professional jobs, or creating good rapports with authority.

asking advice is all good and well... but... please do a google search and get some info from a reputable source. i could say the sky is green, and, if you had never seen the sky, you would have no idea that that's not true. same thing here -- i could say anything, but, since you are asking, you wouldn't know if it's misinformed or blatantly wrong. so please. do some research, you're about to stick some metal through your face. that's no small deal. especially when you're young. things to check out for yourself -- your school's policy on facial piercings, needles vs guns, healing times, what can go wrong (and take this seriously), what problems look like so you can identify them, what to do/where to go if something goes awry, what to look for in a piercist, what questions to ask your potential piercist (and don't be bashful about asking. it's your face.), what your parents think (yes. don't even not do this, it is important). google can help you out, as can your doctor and piercist.
