I have a 1986 Chevy Custom D that needs the engine rebuilt.  During tear down, there appears to be metal shavings from the bearings in the oil pan.  Can I drop the crankshaft without removing the block? ( I don't own a cherry picker) Or am I screwed need to get some professional assistance?  Help Anyone?
