im trying to find the title and author of a novel about vampires which i read during the 1950's. its about a man who is trapped by vampires in his house and he spends his days destroying resting vampires and his nights defending himself from them .I think it is set in California .Anyone help ?

You are probably thinking of I AM LEGEND by Richard Matheson [first published in 1954].
Taken from http://books.fantasticfiction.co.uk/n0/n914.htm, here is the story summary: "Robert Neville is the last living man on earth ... but he is not alone. Every other man, woman and child on the planet has become a vampire, and they are all hungry for Neville's blood.
By day he is the hunter, stalking the sleeping undead through the abandoned ruins of civilisation. By night, he barricades himself in his home and prays for the dawn. How long can one man survive like this?"


It's been reprinted and reissued so many times that it shouldn't be hard to track down a good copy. Good luck! :)

I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of a story about a princess that wanted a winter garden and if she recieved it she would marry the man that made it??  I saw this about 10 years ago on a show called Choose your own adventure.   I just thought is was a cool story and would like the name.
