My 1996 Jeep Cherokee's temp light comes on only when driving in hot weather on the highway (60-70 mph), and only then after at least an hour's worth of driving. The A/C continues to work perfectly, and the engine itself certainly does not seem to be overheating. The temp light never comes on while the car is idling in park for a few hours with the A/C on maximum, so I find it hard to believe that I'm having an overheating issue. Can anyone direct me to an answer? I've taken the Jeep to a few mechanics and they haven't been able to do much. I'm inclined simply to ignore the light, but I'd rather not do any damage.
