make sure that the box in the celing is capable of holding the celing fan if you dont know go to home depot of a parts house and find out then if it isnt buy the one that will next buy a dimmer sw and wire as per instructions black to black white to white and green to green you will have one extra wire and will need one extra wire in the celing if you dont alreadt have one if you do hook this wire up for the lt and the other for the fan

you have to have 3 conductor wiring to the fan and you can buy a duo-control for seperate fan/light controls in a single gang box or if you only have a two conductor wire to the fan you can buy a remote control fan and control fan&light seperately

First you have to find a dimmer, switch which has three lines;one input hot line, two out put travel line;one control by the switch only another one, control by switch(same switch) and and dimmer.these two travel line go to ceiling;one to fan(the one only control by switch) the other to light.then use the pull switch to control fan speed(come with the fan) and use pull control switch to on and off the light(if you only want the fan on).I am now looking for this kind of dimmer and switch. But you have find out the total watts of your unite for the match your dimmer, switch.

CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE FAN ON A DIMMER SWITCH. You must have a three conductor cable operating the fan and light separately to be able to install a dimmer switch in the light circuit. If you don't have a three conductor cable, it's not that hard to install. First make sure the power is off. Simply remove the existing boxes (probably need to replace box for fan anyway, depending on rating of box). Reach into hole, grab existing switch leg and pull it away from the stud to remove staples. Strip the outer installation off the cable and twist one or two of the wire together, then tape them so that they do not come apart while pulling. Do not make a large knot, it will not go through the hole in the top plates. I have found it easier to pull from the light and feed from the switch. Remove staples from other end of existing switch leg by reach through the box hole and pull the wire away from the stud or rafter, whichever the case. Then pull the new wire in with the existing wire. Now you can replace your old switch box with a two gang old work box or you can go back with the single gang box and a combo switching device.

best way for a two wire circuit.. is to add a remote (about$25.00 at Home Depot)
once you wire the fan, blue black wires
together to the hot black common in and the common (white) is connected
you should have full control of fan speed light on off and dim even reverse fan if needed..good luck
