I just bought a 97 pontiac firebird.it had the delco cd...

I just bought a 97 pontiac firebird.it had the delco cd player in it but it was not working plus the amp was removed.I ran new wire and removed the delco cd player and now i have some problems.First off when you open the door you hear clicking noises which stop when you shut the door.also car starts but dies quickly.my brother told me it has to do with the theft lock on the car.will simply installing the new stereo fix this or what do i need to do please help.
