We have a 1993 Chrysler Concorde.  Last night the horn started blaring and it automatically locked the doors.  We pulled the fuses in the end.  We recently had the ignition switch replaced which seemed to have fixed the problems we were having before...is the horn a related problem..or something else wrong?

I have a 93 Concorde with 82000miles.
1. Horn blares by itself
2. Trunk opens by itself
3.Doors lock or unlock at random
4.Wipers will not return to rest on interrupted cycle.
Either the Remote Access module or the Body Control Module is defective. My educated guess is that it is the Remote Access Module and the part costs about $120. More when I fix the problem. Good Luck to you.

I have 1993 Chrysler with 56,000 miles.  I am original owner and car has been garaged every day from day 1.  Have serviced car at all recommended intervals.  Changed oil every 3,000 miles.  For past several months door locks will open, truck lid opens and now car will die for no apparent reason.  Took to dealer last month complaining of these problems and they stated "could not duplicate problem."  Well two Saturdays in row car died.  Last Saturday I got it started after sitting 20 minutes.  Today I had it towed to dealer with nasty note left in their "early bird" drop off.  Only 1 gas tank ago I had 60,000 mile service (early).  Told dealer of problems and with a $1300.00 bill the problem I went in for is not fixed.  It souunds to me like Chrysler needs the threat of recall to fix engine stall problems since apparantly I'm not alone.

  3. Doors lock or unlock at random
I can't find in any manual where the Remote Access module or the Body Control Module are located. Can anyone help?

I have a 1994 Chrysler Concorde with the same problems. The alarm goes off and the car simply won't start sometimes. I see that I'm not the only one.

I disconnected the remote access module, and that seems to have solved the problem. It is hard to tell because the problem can go months without occurring. The  module is located under the front dash panel up by the windshield, if you carefully pry the panel up with a screwdriver it will pop free and the module is on the right side.

I feel really bad for you people. I haven't had that experience with my 93 concorde and it's at about 230,000 miles. The windows are giving me a problem though. They slipped off track. Oh, and my glove box button for the trunk doesn't work anymore.

I have the same problem with my Chrysler Concorde. It's a 94 and sometimes it just won't start!!! And I knew that from the begining that it must be the ALARM SYSTEM. Because when the I am trying to start the car and it simply won't start I see no electricity in coming into the engine. The Alarm System Disables the Engine from Starting.. Anyone knows how to fix this problem?

I have a 93 Concorde. I too had all the same problems with the trunk opening, horn blaring, doors unlocking. all were caused by a remote keyless entry system I didnt know it had. The dealership gave me the option to either cut the wires to it or replace it. I had the wires cut and havent had anymore problems with it. only one thing though.  When the wires are cut the drivers door will not lock with the power lock switch. but the other three will.

Also,  I did have a problem with it dying for no apparent reason.  It is the Cam Shaft Position Sensor was failing.  This is a distributerless engine and the sensor takes place of the distributer

Hope this helps some of ya.

98,000 miles. Trunk and doorlocks open, horn blares, dome lights go on by themselves. I wake to find my car already aluminated.  I have removed 5 fuses from the dash.  The electronics suck but it runs REAL nice. For those whose engines cuts out, try replacing the crank sensor chip, which controls the gas flow to your engine from your feul pump. Good car other than the aggrivations.

I had a 1997 chrysler concorde, with 53,000 miles that the rack, or tire-rod broke.  This has left me uneasy.  I had the car towed into the dealer on Labor Day weekend, coming out with a 1995 pt cruiser.

Prior to my purchasing the cruiser, mine too was stalling, I had it repaired,so called by chrysler dealer at a cost of $800 dollars; the extended warranty did not work with this part...the warranty was only for power-train.

I'm just wondering, because I lost my steering coming out of the driveway at my home.  If I were on the highway; I could have been killed.  (Is it something that should be recalled in the dash board)that could effect the steering mech)?  Is this something that chrysler could be withholding.  Oh, and yes my passenger side electrical window and my trunk would not open with the key; only from the glove department.

Please keep me posted because I want to make sure every chrysler is safe.

I thinking of buying a 1995 Concorde that has 144,000 with a new transmission for $1,700.  Is that a fair price?  Any problems with the 1995 models?  Help!  I know nothing about Chyslers.

I too have a 93' Concorde and at this exact moment it is sitting in a shop because the motor blew out. Thanks to the radiator. Also I my sensors needed to be fixed not to say that my windows were falling out of place. They do need to do a recall on these vehicales. I truly agree now that i have read all these problems with everybody else. And my mileage is just at about 157,000.

Make sure all recalls are fixed by the dealer (est. cost --free)
Check the fuses. Most electrical problems can be fixed by replacing burnt fuses (located at the drivers side (est. cost $20-most fuse sets are sold with testers)
When the motor/engines dies while you're driving... have the sensor replaced (est. cost $ 120.00 +)

I too have a 93 Concorde. The problem with the Alarm not letting the car start is very easy to fix. On the drivers side inside the car look underneath the steering wheel, there is a small black switch. Switch it off and the car starts with no problem. Somehow when you drive the foot touches it and causes it to switch on. Happens to me all the time.

Yeah, I have a 93 Concorde 174,000 miles, and I hate American made cars there not trust worthy. I absolutely hate that piece of $h!+. I have trouble with it all the time. First it just started with a little jerk almost like a rough shift, now it's BAD. My cruise control will come on automatically, that causes my RPM'sto fly for only a second then it drops and stays at zero rpms for about ten seconds then it dies. It will die in the most random places, Stop signs, me slowing down basicaly that drops rpm. Also, the front passenger side door wont lock(electronic) the rest work fine. sometimes my car wont even start back up. well that about sums it all up thanks for reading (if you made it this far)

Wow, I'm sure glad this thread was indexed by Google.

I have a 1993 Chrysler Concorde that just stopped starting today and I think it has something to do with the remote access module or the body control module.

I woke up to find the car with a flat tire today and it cranks but won't start. Its pretty obvious to me that the computer has disabled the car from starting...
