My daughter has a 1999 Mercury Cougar V6. The brake lights and speed control have ceased to work, and the light in the overhead console is on indicating that an external lamp (bulb) is out. I checked all the bulbs, the fuse and replaced the brake light switch on the brake pedal. No help. Upon reading on the internet, it seems as though the signal from the brake light switch goes into a lamp failure indicator module, that indicates a bad bulb. Where is this 'module/box' located and can it cause the brake light systems to cease working ?
