Sorry, but diesel is not a "gas" under normal conditions. It is a liquid.
Sadly in the English language, the word 'gas' has become commonly used as a substitute for the word 'gasoline', even though the two have almost no relationship to each other.
If the question asked was "what are three different types of gasoline?",then the answers would be much different. Possibly:
'leaded'
'unleaded'
'hi-octane'
'regular'
'premium'
'racing'
'aviation'
'oxygenated'
'reformulated'
and many other 'nicknames' tacked on by marketing companies.
