I just purchashed a Satellite System (Direct TV) but live in a penthouse with all glass sliding doors leading to the terrace where the dish will be located and no way to run the cable inside to the condo (flat wire won't work)..The installer mentioned something about a wireless device that mounts to the glass on both sides of the sliding glass doors....Do you know what he's talking about? And, what is this devise called??
Thank you,
Chuck

While A Passive Capacitive Coupling Through Glass Will Work For Broadcast Receiving Antennas, They Do Not Require Power As The LNBs Of The Direct TV Dish Antenna Requires. You Will Require Power To The LNBs And That Will Require A Direct Connection To A Power Source. If You Locate The Power Source Outside, You Might Just Be Able To Use Passive Capacitive Coupling To Get The LNB Signal Inside.  I Have Never Tried It At The Frequencies Required For LNBs.
