My house was built in 1965, and does not have grounding on some circuits, particularly in the kitchen.  There are only 2 wires connected to each receptacle.  If I understand this FAQ properly, to resolve this lack of ground, all I need to do is install GFIC receptacles at each location that is not grounded.  Is this correct?  If not, what should I do?

is your wiring in the kitchen installed in armored cable? I suspect that it is, which means it is your ground path.

A GFI HAS to be grounded or it won't work.

no, you need three wires, a hot, common, and ground, the ground goes to the electrical panel which is also grounded by a large cable to a metal rod going into the ground outside.
